Rumours over entry of woman in Sabarimala

Even as the Sabarimala Ayyappa temple opened on Tuesday for monthly poojas, a rumour that a woman who earlier entered the temple may turn up this time started spreading on Wednesday.

According to sources, several devotees assembled near the temple on Wednesday following rumours that Bindu Ammini, who earlier entered the temple, would turn up this time.

The police on duty at Sabarimala extended the vigil to avoid any untoward incident. But later the devotees dispersed as they came to know that it was only a rumour.

The temple that opened for poojas in the month of Edavam will close on May 19. Not much police deployment was made this time.
