No change in state BJP leadership: Shobha

Last Updated 16 December 2018, 17:08 IST

MP Shobha Karandlaje on Friday said that she would abide by the party high command’s decision regarding parliamentary seat she should in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

“The party is priority me,” she told reporters.

She clarified that there was no change in the party leadership in the state for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections. “The talk of change of leadership in the state BJP are rumours spread to affect the party workers,” she said.

Karandlaje alleged that the development works in the state had come to a standstill. “The state government is conspiring to divert the attention of the public by attacking the BJP leaders,” she said referring to the arrest of mining baron Janardhan Reddy.

On Ram Mandir issue, the MP said that Prime Minister would take a suitable decision at suitable time. “There is huge rally held simultaneously in Ayodhya, Nagpur and Bengaluru on November 25 to discuss over the construction of Ram Mandir,” she said and expressed dissatisfaction over the delayed judgement in the Apex Court.

On woman activist Trupthi Desai’s decision to enter Sabarimala, MP said that Desai had not come as a devotee. “She has come as an activist and Lord Ayyappa is interested in his devotees and not activists. It is a publicity stunt. The Supreme Court should consider religious sentiments in the Sabarimala issue,” she said.

She promised to hold talks with the concerned union minister for the relaxation of CRZ norms. She appealed to the state government to take initiatives permitting the sand extraction in the district.

Karandlaje said that she would also hold talks with Union minister Nitin Gadkari over the delay in the completion of widening of NH 66. She said that Gems and Jewellery institute would be inaugurated shortly by the Union minister Suresh Prabhu in Udupi.
