None can prevent Modi from retaining power: brother

“Priyanka Gandhi’s entry into active politics cannot stop Narendra Modi from returning to power. The NDA will win more than 300 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha election,” said Prahlad Modi, brother of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“Modi has the blessings of the people and nobody can stop him from becoming Prime Minister again,” Prahlad Modi told reporters, on his arrival at Mangaluru International Airport.

Prahlad Modi was in the city to visit temples in Dakshina Kannada district on Tuesday.

“Narendra Modi has implemented many welfare programmes in the past five years. People have accepted his governance. Many are opposing him as they have little to do,” he ridiculed.

On the ‘Mahaghatbandhan’ (grand alliance), Prahlad Modi said; “Ghatbandhans were formed in the past as well. NDA formed an alliance during Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s term. It is strong even today,” he noted.

“As National Vice President of Ration Shop Dealers Federation, I have spoken against the Union government in the past. But that does not mean that I am against the NDA government and am supporting Mamata Banerjee,” he clarified.

On entering politics, Prahlad Modi said: “In our family, only Narendra Modi is in politics. I have not even thought of joining politics.”
