One more H1N1 death in DK

A patient infected with H1N1, and suffering from other health complications, died at Wenlock Hospital in Mangaluru.

The deceased hails from Kanyana in Bantwal taluk. She was admitted to a private hospital in Mangaluru following an H1N1 infection. She was treated and later shifted to Wenlock Hospital.

The deceased patient was suffering from various other ailments including kidney related problems, said District Health Officer (DHO) Dr Ramakrishna Rao.

With this, the number of deaths due to H1N1, has increased to five in Dakshina Kannada district.

The DHO said that 48 cases tested positive for H1N1, out of the 442 samples tested in the district.

Of the 48 cases, six patients are undergoing treatment at various hospitals and 37 patients have recovered, according to the DHO.
