<p>BlueOrigin, the commercial spaceflight organisation owned by Jeff Bezos, has organised the first female-only mission in more than six decades. The all-female crew includes US popstar, Katy Perry. She told the <em>New York Times</em> that her jumpsuit design manages to “bring a little spice to space” while also being shaped to the female form.</p>.<p>On an Instagram reel, Perry talks about how she is “always looking for little confirmations from the heavens, from my guides, from my angels, from my higher self".</p>.<p>She goes on to state that she had noticed two unexpected coincidences while preparing for the space flight. The first one being the outline of a feather (the logo of BlueOrigin) in the front of the spacecraft. Katy Perry was nicknamed 'Feather' by her mother, which made this an interesting coincidence for her. Furthermore, the capsule is called 'Tortoise', another of Katy Perry’s nicknames.</p><p>“My mum calls me two nicknames – feather and tortoise. What are the chances that I’m going to space on a rocket in a capsule with my symbol, the feather, called Tortoise?” she said.</p><p>The all-female space flight will be BlueOrigin’s 11th human flight. It will also be the first all-female space flight since Soviet astronaut Valentina Tereshkova’s solo space flight in 1963. </p><p>A statement by Lauren Sanchez explains how the aim of the mission is to inspire others to dream big and how the rest of the space crew are “excellent storytellers".</p><p>In a statement to Associated Press, Katy Perry said, “I am talking to myself every day and going ‘You’re brave, you’re bold, you are doing this for the next generation to inspire so many different people but especially young girls to go, ‘I’ll go to space in the future.’ No limitations.”</p>
