‘Set up fast track court to probe into gangrape case’

Karnataka Dalita Sangharsha Samiti (Ambedkar clan) state general convener Mavalli Shankar urged the government to expedite the gangrape case and ensure that justice was not delayed.

He also demanded job to the victim and welcomed the move by the Department of Health and Family to place district RCH officer Dr Ashok H under suspension. “He was accused of sexually harassing women colleagues. The action against the official was the result of a sustained campaign carried out by DSS,” he told reporters.

DC manna lands

“The district administration should clear all encroachments on DC manna lands and distribute the land among dalits”, Mavalli Shankar said.

A memorandum in this regard has been submitted to social welfare minister Priyank Kharge, he said.

Parinirvana Day will observed on the 62nd Parinirvana Day of Dr B R Ambedkar on December 8. A procession would be carried out from Tipu Sultan’s birthplace Devanahalli to Dr B R Ambedkar’s statue in the premises of Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru at 11 am, he said and added that the meeting of all members of Karnataka DSS will be held on the day.
