Bite-sized or sachet insurance products are gaining ground in India these days. They are generating a fair amount of interest amongst investors and consumers alike. Globally, the Indian insurance market is ranked 17th in terms of penetration.

Insurance penetration in the country reached 3.69% in 2017 (from 2.71% in 2001) but it is still lower than the global average of 6%.
