The oasis we are referring to is a garden this old man has raised over the last several years. The farm has 50 each of mango trees, chikkoo, lemon and other varieties.
Way back in 1976, when the teacher dug a well on his farm, there were none of the modern-day facilities available.
In fact, even now he doesn’t use any modern-day equipment that requires a lot of electricity and water to raise his farm. He makes compost out of the leaves and organic waste generated in the farm.
The retired teacher has created his own system of channelising water from the well.
The 77-year-old is indeed a role model for other progressive farmers.
