Archana bags two titles at National meet

Archana Kamath, representing the Airport Authority of India (AAI), continued her fine form on the national stage to clinch two titles at the 78th Junior and Youth National and Inter-State Table Tennis Championships being held in Vadodara on Wednesday.

In junior girls singles (U-18) category final, Archana beat West Bengal’s Moumita Datta 4-0 for the title. In the semifinals the city girl had registered a 4-2 over Selena Deepti Selvakumar of Tamil Nadu and had beaten Ishita Gupta of Delhi in the quarterfinals 4-0.
Later, she combined with Sreeja Akula (AAI) to clinch the youth girls doubles title, defeating Moumita and Priyadarshini Das 3-0.

Meanwhile, there was more joy for Karnataka as the pair of Kushi  V and Spoorthy MV won the bronze medal in the junior girls (U-18) doubles. They lost to Priyanka Pareek and Bhuvaneshwari Rathore  of Rajasthan in the semis.
