With two wins from two games, RCB have climbed at the top of the league with 4 points. Problems for SRH as they have lost their opening two games and now have a lot of catching up to do. Tomorrow we shall have two young wicketkeeper captains in action as Rishabh Pant's Delhi Capitals take on Sanju Samson's Rajasthan Royals. That would be all for the coverage of this match. Join us for the match between RR and DC. For now it is time to say good-night!
RCB's Glenn Maxwell is the Player of the Match for his FIFTY. Maxwell hit five fours and 3 sixes in his inning and took one catch.
Glenn Maxwell: It is a very nice start for me in a new franchise. They have given me a specific role. To start like this is really nice. It is nice to have batters behind you, you have freedom and that is almost close to the role I have in the Australian cricket team. It is just about using the experience. I get myself in and then go for the runs. Probably having those guys behind me is a luxury at RCB. I suppose the coaching effect is there to an extent as well. Obviously, my 4th IPL team and there's a bit of pressure.
Virat Kohli, RCB captain: Not as exhausted as I am proud of my team. You are never really out of the game in these conditions. The extra bowling options made those impact performances in the middle overs. I told the guys don't think that we struggled to get to 149. If it was tough for us, it will be tough for them as well. Our execution under pressure was spot on. It kept getting tougher and tougher with the old ball. I think Maxwell innings wasthe difference for us. To be honest, we are not excited with wins this season. We have plans. We traded Harshal Patelfrom DC, gave him a specific role and he's doing a great job.
David Warner, SRH captain:Our bowlers were fantastic to restrict them. Maxwell batted well and set the platform. We needed two set batsmen at the end, but we failed to do that. We needed to build a partnership and play proper cricket shots. We played cross-batted shots, and that's not the way to play here. That hurts. We know how to approach in the upcoming games. We need minimum damage in the first six overs and play simple cricket. The team batting second here at Chepauk should have won all four games. This is exactly what happened last night.
