Karnataka men have a good day

In the volleyball event, Karnataka men scored a comfortable 25-14, 25-20, 25-16 win over Chattisgarh in their Group D encounter.

After having qualified to the quarterfinals with a good show in the handball league stages, Karnataka scored a thrilling 31-29 win over Jammu and Kashmir to storm into the semifinals. Premnath (10) and Manu (8) were the main contributors for Karnataka while Vikram (10) and Neeraj (7) did their bit for J&K.

In the basketball event, SG Mahesh (21) and M Irfan Qureshi (15) powered the hosts to a 58-40 win against Orissa. Ashish Rajan (12) and Karthik Behera (8) contributed with 20 points between them but it was not enough to deny their opponents a win.
