<p> Pace-setters Vijay Punjabi and Judy Allan deservingly emerged men’s and women’s champions respectively in the Karnataka State Tenpin Bowling Championship here at the Blu O bowling alley on Friday.<br /><br /></p>.<p>In men’s category, played on challenge-the-leader format, Punjabi lost the opening game 198-216 but came back strongly in the next game, defeating Akaash Ashok Kumar 216-195.<br />In the other matches, Parvez Ahmed edged out Varun N Ganapathy 203-194 in his opening game but lost 225-245 to Akaash in the next game.<br /><br />In the final of women’s category, Judy scored a narrow 177-172 win over Pooja Hegde. <br />Earlier, at the end of 32 games in men’s category, Punjabi emerged on top with a total pinfall of 6725 followed by Akaash (6593), Parvez (6310) and Varun (6259).
