Rail Wheel Factory emerge champions

Powered by centuries from V Cheluvaraj and R Jonathan, Rail Wheel Factory (RWF) edged State Bank of Mysore (SBM) by 14 runs to emerge champions in the KSCA Group II, Division I tournament here.

Cheluvaraj (118, 115b, 9x4, 6x6) and Jonathan (118, 123b, 8x4, 4x6) slammed identical tons to share a third wicket stand of 210 runs as RWF posted a formidable 303 all out in 49.1 overs in the final clash.

Off-spinner Anirudha Joshi bagged four for 38 while seasoned pacers HS Sharath (3/70) and S Arvind (3/72) shared six wickets between them for SBM.

Kaunain Abbas (74) and KN Bharath (54) led SBM’s fightback but the duo failed to take its team over the line.

D Nischal (25), KC Avinash (27) and Pavan Deshpande (29), all got good starts they but failed to convert it into big innings.

Manoj was the most successful bowler for the winners with figures of three for 51 while Shoaib Manager (2/72), Sunil Kumar Jain (2/11) and SK Moiunddin (2/68) picked up two wickets each.
