Defending world and Olympic champions Russia beamed with delight throughout their set and top scored with 98.667 points. Spain's Andrea Fuentes and Gemma Mengual took the silver with Chinese twins Jiang Tingting and Jiang Wenwen finishing third at the open air pool, where spectators hid for cover from the blazing sun.
Russia's Natalia Ishchenko easily retained her technical solo title on Monday.
