Shreyasi claims gold

Shre­yasi Singh of Bihar won the gold medal in women’s trap in the 56th National Shooting Championship at the Karni Singh Range, Tughlakabad, here on Friday.

Shreyasi, a former national champion, shot a score of 65+14. The silver medal was won by Seema Tomar of Army (58+14) and bronze medal (54+18 ) went to Ria Rajeshwari Kumari of Punjab.

In Junior Sports Pistol event, Shivraj Sase of Maharashtra won the gold. He shot 572/600. The silver and bronze medals went to Loktongbam of Army (566) and Ajitesh Kaushal of ONGC (565).

Chain Singh of Army shot 594/600 and reached the top slot of air rifle men's qualification.
He edged ahead of Olympic gold medal winner Abhinav Bindra, who was tied on the first position on Thursday with PT Raghunath with a score of 591/600. The finals of this event will be conducted on Saturday.

On the second day of trap event, Zorawar Singh was tied with Olympian Manavjit Singh at 95/100. Mansher Singh, who was leading on Thursday, dropped to third position and was tied with Birendeep Singh with a score of 94/100.
 Finals of this event will be held on Saturday.
