<p>The term of the ‘108’ ambulance services has been extended by three months in public interest, Health Minister Shivanand Patil has said.</p>.<p>Speaking to reporters here on Sunday, he said that only three bids had been received for global tenders floated for providing the ambulance service in the state.</p>.<p>Since there was lacuna in bidders, the tenders have been floated again.</p>.<p>The process is on for the past one and half years, the minister said.</p>.<p>Replying to a question, Patil said that the government was ready to provide the service if contractors do not come forward.</p>.<p>“We have already purchased 400 vehicles for this purpose,” he said.</p>
