Former minister A Manju joined BJP at the party office in Hassan on Sunday. BJP MLA Preetham J Gowda welcomed him into the party fold by felicitating him with a shawl.
Manju will contest on a BJP ticket against JD(S)-Congress coalition candidate Prajwal Revanna from the Hassan Lok Sabha constituency.
Manju was elected as an MLA in 1999 on a BJP ticket from Arkalgud. Later, he joined Congress and served as a minister in Siddaramaiah’s cabinet. He lost the MLA elections against A T Ramaswamy of JD(S) during the Assembly elections in 2018.
