ACB plaint: 3 cops seek advance bail

DySP Sudarshan, Rural police station Circle Police Inspector Kumaraswamy and police sub-inspector Bharathi have filed applications before District Special Court seeking anticipatory bail, following FIR registered against them at the ACB in connection with illegal sand mining.

The judge Prabhavathy M Hiremath will take up the cases for the hearing on January 11.

Sleuths of Anti Corruption Bureau had nabbed rural police station head constable Yallappa while he was accepting bribe of
Rs 17,500 from Firoz Pasha, native of Channagiri, to help the latter in transporting sand illegally, last week.

During the interrogation, he had revealed the involvement of other police officers in the case.

He had submitted the audio, video clippings to the court as evidence. So, ACB had registered a case against three police officers.
