The JD(S) is likely to field Anita Kumaraswamy, wife of Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, in the Ramanagar Assembly segment bypoll.
Ramanagar segment was vacated by the chief minister as he retained Channapatna Assembly segment. He had contested from both Ramnagar and Channapatna and he won in both the seats. Though there were rumours that Nikhil, son of Kumaraswamy, might be fielded, it was learnt that Deve Gowda’s family members have decided to field Anita.
She had won Madhugiri Assembly segment byelection in 2008.
