BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa left for New Delhi on Thursday to hold discussions with party national president Amit Shah on selection of candidates for the Lok Sabha polls.

The BJP election committee has been taking inputs from party functionaries and workers at the grassroots-level political situation in various districts. Yeddyurappa is likely to give a brief on the outcome of this exercise to Shah.

Meanwhile, several senior BJP leaders will descend on the state this week to address party workers and election rallies.

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh will arrive in Mangaluru, where he will interact with Shakti Kendra pramukhs (heads). The Shakti Kendra pramukhs serve as grassroots level incharges (at the booth level) for the party.

Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan will address a farmers’ rally in Tumakuru on Friday. The same day, Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Gajendra Singh Shekhawat will address a farmers’ rally in Kolar.
