BSY to tour state from August

Last Updated 18 July 2018, 21:00 IST

Leader of Opposition in Legislative Assembly B S Yeddyurappa said he will start a state-wide tour from August after forming four teams to understand farmers’ woes and the status of development projects of the state government.

He was speaking to reporters here on Wednesday.

He said that loan waiver has not benefitted farmers. “The officers of nationalised banks have made it clear that they will not issue loan clearance certificates to farmers if all loans are not paid as per the RBI guidelines. So, farmers will not get new loan immediately. The condition is the same even in cooperative banks. But the chief minister did not understand it.”

On iPhone offer to state MPs and separate statehood, he said, “Our MPs don’t need it and the party is not in favour of separate statehood for North Karnataka. If the region is not developed, then work for the development of the state.”
