Channapatna polls: Faced bribery, strong-arm tactics says Yogeshwar

Last Updated 14 May 2018, 07:21 IST

BJP candidate for Channapatna C P Yogeshwar said that, bribing voters with black money and the strong-arm tactics of the opposing parties, that he was up against in the polls, might lead to his defeat in the constituency.

Addressing the media at Ramanagaram on Monday, he said that the Congress and the JD(S) had joined hands two days before the polling on Saturday; in order to defeat him.

"(Energy Minister) D K Shivakumar's black money was distributed indiscriminately all over the constituency and 20 Congress leaders who were with me were bought over by the opposition," Yogeshwar alleged.

"In this election, the DKS brothers had given H M Revanna a supari to end my political career. Kumaraswamy made good use of the opportunity," said Yogeshwar by becoming emotional.

Irrespective of who wins, the victory will be by a tiny margin. "If I lose, I will stay in the BJP itself and serve the party. In case of a bye-election, if the party wishes it, I will contest from whatever constituency I am given," he added.
