Former prime minister H D Deve Gowda, his elder son PWD Minister H D Revanna, and seven family members will visit the famous Pashupatinath Temple in Kathmandu, Nepal, on September 7.

Since the formation of the JD(S)-Congress coalition government, Deve Gowda and his sons -- Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy and PWD Minister Revanna, have been on a 'temple run', not just in Karnataka, but across the country.

Now, Deve Gowda and Revanna will cross borders to seek divine blessings for the survival of the state government. Incidentally, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Pashupatinath temple in August.

Gowda and family will board the 5.50 pm Nepal Airlines flight at Bengaluru on Thursday. The Gowdas will stay the night at Kathmandu, and leave for the Pashupatinath Temple early Friday morning. There they will worship the reigning deity Lord Shiva.

Return on Friday

Pashupatinath, one of Asia's four most important temples for Shiva devotees, is located on either bank of the Bagmati river (considered holy by Hindus). One of the temple's priests is from Karnataka. The Gowdas are slated to leave Kathmandu and return to New Delhi at 5.15 pm on Friday.

Patriarch Deve Gowda will be accompanied by his wife Channamma, daughter Shylaja Chandrashekar, grandson Suraj Revanna, daughter-in-law Dr Sowmya, granddaughter Sukriti Ramesh and relatives Veena and Sudha.
