Former prime minister H D Deve Gowda on Thursday said he was looking forward to meeting Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in Bengaluru, leading to speculation that the JD(S) leader was once again keen on reviving the third front.

Patnaik will be in Bengaluru on Friday to participate in the birth centenary celebrations of his father Biju Patnaik.

Odisha’s Health Minister Athun Sabyasachi Nayak and IT Minister Pranav Prathav Das called on Gowda at his residence and invited him for the event scheduled to be held at the Palace Grounds.

Speaking to reporters, Gowda said he will gladly attend the event.

Third front revival
To a query, whether he would discuss revival of the third front, Gowda, “Only God knows the fate of the third front.”

Gowda said Naveen Patnaik’s BJP had won 20 out of the 21 Lok Sabha seats in the 2014 Parliamentary elections. It reflected the popularity of the party, he said.
