The district administration lags behind in updating its website. Two days since Manjula took charge as the deputy commissioner, but according to the website, Anwar Pasha is the deputy commissioner. Five days after Yashawant took over as chief executive officer the website has no information about the new CEO and has N Krishnappa as the CEO.
The website, meant to provide information on the district, has no information about the changes and developments in the administration of the Zilla Panchayat. There is no mentioned anywhere about the new deputy commissioner and the CEO, let alone posting their photographs and other details.
Besides, the office and residence number for contact have also not changed though the officials have been transferred. Though there is a link on the website - http://www.chikballapur.nic.in/dcoffice.html - for “what’s new” and “flash news” the recent news posted there are of the latest by July.
The website provides no information on the projects and progress for the month of August. Though details of disciplinary action taken against the village accountants and other officials of lower rank are hosted, there is no update on the crucial development in the district administration.
As an employee of a private firm, Krishnamurthy says, slumber has sealed the spirit of these bureaucrats whom even the change in guard has failed to excite.
