Break up of votes in Kolar constituency

 The number of votes polled each by BJP, Congress and JD(S) candidates in the reserved Kolar Lok Sabha constituency (SC) is as follows. The Loka Sabha constituency comprises of 8 Assembly constituencies-Shidlaghatta, Srinivaspur, Mulbagal, KGF, Chintamani, Kolar, Bangarpet and Malur.
Congress gained majorly in the constituencies of Shidlaghatta, Srinivaspur, Mulbagal and KGF. While BJP gained in Chintamani, Kolar, Bangarpet and Malur. However Congress candidate K H Muniyappa won with a majority of 23,000 votes.
In Shidlaghatta, Muniyappa polled 56,824 votes while BJP’s D S Veeraiah gained 28,569 votes and JD(S)’s G Chandranna who polled 29,147 votes was in second position.
Chintamani-Congress got 38,537 votes while BJP managed to get 52,831 votes. JD(S) had to satisfy with 21,756 votes. BJP scored above the two parties in this constituency.
Srinivaspur-Here Congress was way head of other with 51,159 votes while JD(S) got 44,345 votes. BJP slipped to third position with 29,251 votes.
Mulbagal-The contest here was close as the difference between Congress and BJP wasn’t much, though Congress had a thin edge. Congress polled 42,194 votes while BJP was close behind with 40,862 votes. JD(S) got only 26,842 votes.
Kolar Gold Fields-Congress was placed high here with 40,730 votes while BJP and JD(S) got 29,632 and 20,722 votes respectively and were placed in second and third position respectively.
Bangarpet-Here BJP had a lead as it gained 41,931 votes. However Congress was close behind at 39,120 votes. JD(S) got only 18,294 votes.
Kolar-Even here BJP gained significant as it polled 52,025 votes against Congress’s 42,056. JD(S) got only 15,155 votes.
Malur is considered to be strong bastion of BJP, here it got 46,375 votes while Congress had content itself with 33,201 votes. JD(S) got 23, 606 votes.
