Carol singing contest in Mysore today

As many as 75 teams will be participating in this year’s competition and each team will have about 30-40 singers. The competitions will be held in 12 categories for kindergarten, primary and secondary, college students, Parishes and professionals. More than 2,000 participants will be brought on the stage to sing carols in Kannada, English, Hindi, Tamil, Konkani and Malayalam.

The unique feature of this competition is that all christian denominations like Catholics, Protestants, Church of South India, Syrian and Orthodox Churches will be participating in the contest.

The occasion provides a wonderful opportunity for all age groups and people of all sections of society to come together and share the message of joy and peace in a secular and truly ecumenical setting with the view of promoting the lofty ideals of national integration. It will be inaugurated by Sr.Fridoline, Provincial, Karnataka Province, CSST, in the presence of Rev Fr Joseph Edakkeri, CMI, the advisor of CCA.
Attractive prizes and trophies will be presented to the winners of first three prizes in all categories. An overall trophy for the institution which gets the highest score will be given.
