CPI stages protest against lathi charge

The protesters burnt the effigy of State Government for resorting to lathi charge on unorganised workers who were protesting for their rights in some districts recently.

Anganwadi workers, mid-day meal workers and GP workers were protesting across the state for better working conditions and facilities but the police had beaten the protesters at Hassan, Gulbarga and Raichur, which is condemnable, said CPI Taluk Secretary George Austin.

They said that legal action must be taken against the officials responsible for lathi charge and urged to withdraw the cases filed against the workers.

CPI District Secretary Amjad, Raitha Sangha District President K K Krishnegowda, Leaders G Raghu, D L Shankarnath, Keremakki Ramesh were present.
