Mysore taluk wins athletic meet

Mysore taluk emerged the overall champions in the district at the pre-university district-level athletic meet 2011-12 organised by department of PU education and VVS Golden Jubilee PU College here on Monday.

Nihal Ganapathi and Vijay L Balareddy of Ramakrishna Vidyashala, M Arvind of Cambridge College, Hunsur, and Nandish Kumar of Shastry College emerged as the individual champions in the boys category. More than 300 players from seven taluks of the district participated in the sports meet.

3000 metres race: Nandini (Government Girls PU College, Hunsur, 1); Krishnaveni M S (Government Girls PU College, K R Nagar, 2); Shalini (PU College, Periyapatna, 3);
Shot put: Athira Varkey  (Teresian College, 1); Arpitha H D (Government PU College, Hebbal, K R Nagar, 2); Pusphanjali G (Government PU College, K R Nagar, 3).
