Panorama film festival in Mysore from March 15

The Film Festival Directorate, under the Union Information and Broadcasting Directorate, in association with the State Information department and Mysore Film Society, has organised a six-day Indian Panorama Film Festival in Mysore from March 15.

According to a press release from the Information department, the Panorama Film Festival is being held for the first time in Mysore and 16 feature films in various regional languages will be exhibited. Entrance to all films, for the public, will be free.

The festival will be held at the Senate Bhavan, Manasagangothri, and will be inaugurated on March 15 at 3.30 pm. Director of the Film Festival Directorate Shankar Mohan and Director for Information N R Vishukumar will be present during the inaugural function.

The screening of the films will start immediately after the inaugural ceremony. From March 16 to 20, there will be three shows — 11 am, 3 pm and 6 pm — at the Senate Hall. Apart from the feature films, documentary films will be exhibited during the festival.

The films listed for the festival are: Bhag Milka Bhag (Hindi), directed by Om Prakash Mehra; Ship of Thesis (English-Hindi), direction by Anand Gandhi; Fandri (Marathi), directed by Nagaraju Manjule; The Coffin Maker (English-Konkani), directed by Veena Bhakshi; Kanyaka Talkies (Malayalam), directed by K R Manoj; Koyaad (Assamese), directed by Manju Bhora; Jal (Hindi), directed by Girish Malik; Thanga Meenugal (Tamil), directed by Rao; Sathyanveshi (Bangla), directed by Ritupurnno Gosh; Astu (Marathi), directed by Sumitra Bhave and Sukh Thanakar; Ajana Bathas (Bangla), directed by Anjana Das; Sala Budda (Odiya), directed by Sabyasachi Mohapatra; Celluloid (Malayalam), directed by Kamal; Pooring (Bangla), directed by Indranil Choudhary; Apur Panchali (Bangla), directed by Koushil Ganguli; and Paan Singh Tomar (Hindi), directed by Tingmasu Dhulia.
