Terming BBMP results an indication of a significant change in the state, BJP State General Secretary and MLA C T Ravi said the results will be detrimental to the Congress leaders.

Addressing reporters in Madikeri on Tuesday, the MLA said the BBMP elections this time have broken all traditions to bring out a change. So far, the ruling party in the state, was victorious in BBMP elections too. But, this time, the voters have handed over the BBMP administration to BJP. They have displayed wisdom, electing BJP in BBMP elections, he added.

The rejection of Congress by people in BBMP elections, is a clear indication that people are interested in BJP. The victory of BJP will lead to a broad analysis and a political change, stated.

Recently, the media had reported AICC Vice-president Rahul Gandhi saying, if Congress lost in the elections, Congressmen will be held responsible. If the reports are to be trusted, the BBMP election results will prove detrimental to Congress leaders, Ravi said.

This time, the party has decided to celebrate Raksha Bandhan in a different manner. The premium amount towards Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Suraksha Scheme will be borne by the party members. 10,000 people in each legislative assembly constituency will be made accessible to the scheme. A target has also been set to bring 25,000 people under the ambit of the scheme, in Chikkamagaluru Assembly Constituency.

Prime Minister, as promised has released funds directly to the Panchayats. A total of Rs 1,002.85 crore has been provided to the state.
