State Bank of Mysore (SBM) has donated Rs 10 lakh towards development of lakes in Mysuru district. A delegation of officials led by SBM general manager S Venkateshwaralu handed over a cheque to Deputy Commissioner C Shikha, here, recently.
According to the DC, the district administration has taken up the development works on various lakes in the district, utilising donations from different organisations under corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities. Presently, the lakes at Kergalli and Ajjaiahanahundi are being developed with the works executed by Nirmithi Kendra.
The works include desilting of water bodies, conservation and further development works if any. Mysuru Urban Development Authority and Mysuru City Corporation have also extended their cooperation and lakes would be identified for the works.
