<p>Kodagu District Superintendent of Police P Rajendra Prasad said that it is our foremost duty to remember Dr B R Ambedkar, who worked towards the progress of downtrodden communities.</p>.<p class="bodytext">He was speaking during the 127th birth anniversary of Dr B R Ambedkar, organised by Dalit Sangharsha Samiti at Kaveri Kala Kshetra in Madikeri on Sunday.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Ambedkar worked towards eliminating the superstitious beliefs associated with the downtrodden.</p>.<p class="bodytext">He also provided them with opportunities to get an education. We should all work together to bring the dream of Ambedkar into reality, added the SP.</p>.<p class="bodytext">DySP Sundarraj opined that the government facilities should reach every villager.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Clothes were distributed to the inmates of Shreeshakthi old age home.</p>.<p class="bodytext">DSS district coordinator H L Diwakar and Madikeri Dr Ambedkar Bhavan President H M Nandakumar were present among others.</p>
