Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has declared assets worth Rs 20.36 crore in the affidavit filed before the Election Commission along with his nomination papers for the Chamundeshwari Assembly constituency on Friday.

Siddaramaiah is richer by Rs 7 crore after he became chief minister in 2013.

Siddaramaiah’s family has Rs 15.65 crore immovable properties and Rs 4.71 crore movable properties. As per the affidavit submitted in 2013, he had declared assets worth Rs 13.61 crore.

Siddaramaiah owns a Toyota Innova vehicle, 350-gram gold, 2 kg silver items and, his wife Parvathi has 540-gram gold, 4.5 kg silver items. His dependents possess 650 gram of gold and 5 kg silver articles. The family has Rs 4.85 crore debt.

Son richer than Siddaramaiah

Dr Yathindra, son of Siddaramaiah, who is contesting from the Varuna Assembly segment on the Congress ticket, owns more properties than his father. He owns properties worth Rs 23 crore but has Rs 8.73 crore debt.

Kumaraswamy’s assets

Chief ministerial candidate of JD(S) H D Kumaraswamy’s family has assets worth Rs 167 crore in total.

According to the affidavit filed with the nomination papers in Ramanagar on Friday, Kumaraswamy has declared that the family had assets worth Rs 137 crore in 2013. The value of the assets has increased by Rs 30 crore in the last five years.

Presently, Kumaraswamy has personally secured assets worth Rs 42.91 crore. His wife Anitha is richer than him. She has assets worth Rs 124.32 crore.

He has Rs 12 lakh in cash and has deposits of Rs 22.25 lakh in various banks. He has given a loan of Rs 6.51 crore to his wife. To others, he has given a loan of Rs 6.97 crore. He has 750-gram gold, 12.5 kg silver and other jewels worth Rs 24.52 lakh including a four-carat diamond. She does not own a car.

Kumaraswamy has mentioned that he has earned Rs 3.26 lakh in 2016-17 as an MLA. He has also mentioned that his agricultural income
Rs 41.63 lakh annually.

Anitha has Rs 42 lakh in cash and deposits worth Rs 1.90 crore. She has borrowed Rs 8.14 crore as loan from various financial institutions. She has 2,660-gram gold, 17 kg silver and jewels worth Rs 93.33 lakh including 40-carat diamond.

Anitha has invested Rs 88.72 crore in Kasturi Media Pvt Ltd and is getting Rs 1.02 crore as honorarium from the company annually.
