Former minister Jeevijaya to quit JD(S)

As rebellion erupts in Kodagu district JD(S), former minister B A Jeevijaya has decided to quit the party.

Sources said that Jeevijaya, along with his supporters, will go to Bengaluru and tender his resignation to the primary membership of the party in two days.

It is said that the appointment of K M B Ganesh as the Kodagu district JD(S) committee president has created the difference of opinion among the local JD(S) leaders.

Ganesh is the supporter of JD(S) state president Adaguru H Vishwanath and was earlier working as the JD(S) campaign committee chairman.

Jeevijaya said that Ganesh had worked against him in the last Assembly elections. “Ganesh is also responsible for my defeat. I cannot accept him as the president of the district JD(S). Though the party high command was advised not to give the post of district JD(S) president to Ganesh, the suggestions were not paid heed to. If we don’t have a say in the party, it is better to quit,” he said.
