Got a chance earlier than expected: Satish Jarkiholi

Congress MLA from Yamakanamaradi Satish Jarkiholi said on Saturday that he had been asked by the party high command to wait for being inducted into the Cabinet, but the opportunity had come earlier than expected.

Axing of Municipal Administration and district incharge Minister Ramesh Jarkiholi, who is also his elder brother, will not have an adverse effect on the party as he will continue in the party, he
said.

Satish told reporters here that dropping from the Cabinet could not be taken as an insult as it had been the practice in the Congress post-independence. Those who are dropped are also inducted back.

On portfolio

“I had been dropped from the erstwhile Siddaramaiah and had not been able to find place in the Congress-JD(S) coalition government led by Kumaraswamy six months ago,” he said.

“All party leaders from the district will talk to him and use his clout in favour of the party candidates contesting the Lok Sabha elections,” he said.

Satish said he was prepared to accept any portfolio given to him, but would prefer
the one which has more contact with the people and will help him serve the society at large.
