“The State Urban Development department has issued the notice under Rule 306 of the Karnataka Municipal Corporation Act, seeking reasons as to why action should not be initiated against them. They have been given seven days to reply. Appropriate action will be taken if they fail to reply,” Minister Suresh Kumar told reporters.

The department had sought a report from the Belgaum City Corporation Commissioner on these issues.

The commissioner has in his report confirmed the incidents. The notice has been issued based on the report, the minister added.
