Govt releases Rs 65 crore for Badami

Last Updated 01 October 2018, 08:25 IST

The state government has released Rs 65 crore for development works in the Badami constituency, which is represented by Congress Legislature Party (CLP) Siddaramaiah.

The release of funds is a response to several letters Siddaramaiah wrote to Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy for development of the constituency.

According to an order issued by the Public Works department, the Rs 65 crore grant will cover renovation of nine guesthouses in the Badami taluk and development of eight state highways, eight district major roads and six rural roads. The Rural Development and Panchayat Raj (RDPR) department, too, has released funds for works in the constituency.

Siddaramaiah, the former chief minister, contested the May 12 Assembly election from two seats; he lost Chamundeshwari, but won Badami with a narrow margin.
