H1N1 cases rise in Hassan

Cases of H1N1 are on the rise in the district with 19 positive cases reported in a month. A woman died of H1N1 in Channarayapatna taluk a few days back.

Compared to rural region, cases are high in urban areas. As many as seven cases were reported in Hassan and the adjoining areas. The Health department has made arrangements in all seven taluk hospitals to attend to H1N1 cases. According to the officials, out of 242 samples, 49 were positive in 2017. Six persons had died. To tackle the spread of the disease, the officials are creating awareness among people. District Health Officer Dr Satish told DH that as many as 19 H1N1 cases have been identified till date. The samples of 97 people have been sent to a hospital in Manipal, Udupi district, he added.
