Halappa's man injured in attack by Belur's aide

The protest by supporters of former MLA Belur Gopalakishna over the denial of BJP ticket to their leader from Sagar constituency turned ugly on Monday night as one of them attacked a supporter of party nominee Haratalu Halappa.

According to police, one of the supporters of Belur stopped the bike in which Vinayak, Halappa's supporter, was riding home, near a hotel and hit his head with a stone. The injured was admitted to a hospital. The Sagar police registered case and are on the lookout for the attacker. Shivamogga SP Abhinav Khare has confirmed the incident.
