Hartal Halappa visits Shimoga

BJP workers and the former minister’s supporters burst crackers to welcome Halappa, who was returning to his home district after a long stay at the hospital.

As soon as he alighted from the four-wheeler at the premises of the inspection bungalow, BJP workers raised slogans in his support and garlanded him. Rajya Sabha member Ayanur Manjunath, legislators R K Siddaramanna, K G Kumaraswamy met him at inspection bungalow.

Halappa evaded questions from the media, saying he would speak in Sorab on Monday after discussions the Chief Minister and BJP State President.

However, Halappa did rubbish questions raised about hospital stay, saying: “I rested at the hospital on doctor’s advice.”

The former minister visited Sigandhureshwari temple near Sagar on Sunday.

He is scheduled to visit Ganapati temple in Sagar and Ranganathaswamy temple in Sorab on Monday and stay in his hometown Holekoppa village. Halappa added that he would attend the Legislative session after his three-day stay in Sorab.
