HIMS gets world-class blood testing equipment

Two world-class blood testing equipment has been installed at Hassan Institute of Medical Sciences (HIMS), in Hassan.

The equipment, worth Rs 2 crore, can be used to check glucose and cholesterol levels in the blood and can be used for testing kidney, gallbladder, thyroid and hormone problems. In addition, blood tests related to cancer can also be done. With the new equipment, the people can get blood reports within a few hours after the test.

The tests will be done at a nominal cost. For BPL card holders, thyroid test will be done at Rs 100 and Rs 200 for the general public.

In addition, the authorities have taken necessary measures to upgrade all other existing facilities in the laboratory. Soon, the patients can get their blood test report on their mobile phones.

HIMS Director Dr B C Ravikumar said, the laboratory has been upgraded to offer better service to the patients. HIMS is one of the few medical hospitals, which offers special services.
