Congress veteran and party candidate from Kalaburagi, Mallikarjun Kharge has said that he had lost the opportunity to become chief minister thrice, for various reasons.

“But, I have neither expressed my displeasure openly nor am I miffed with the party” Kharge said here on Friday.

Speaking at the election campaign meeting at Pattana village of Kalaburagi taluk Kharge said that party and ideology were more imporatnt for him. Those who ditched the grand old party by not following the ideology were working for a party which has been raising voice agvainst the Constitution, he said.

Kharge claimed that development works always helped him win 11 elections.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi was unable to speak against me during his recent visit to Kalaburagi as there were no issues at all.”

He added that Modi, who had been speaking about patriotism, was not born when the Congress made great sacrifices for the country.

The ideologies of the BJP and RSS are detrimental to country and voters should defeat such forces in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Khage said.
