<p>Kodagu Zilla Panchayat Vice President Biddanda Usha Devamma directed the officials to take precautionary measures to check any eventualities during monsoon. <br />She was speaking at monthly KDP review meeting at Madikeri on Thursday. <br /><br />Zilla Panchayat Standing committee (Agriculture and Industry) President Ballaranda Utthappa said that the officials should respond to the woes of the people in distress. <br /><br />Standing committee (social justice) president S N Raja Rao said that boat facility has been provided by the district administration to shift people from flood affected areas. <br /><br />Kannada Jagruti Samiti President T P Ramesh said that trees have been uprooted at several places in the district. The forest and PWD should work in coordination to clear the roads. </p>.<p>Zilla Panchayat CEO K B Anjanappa said that the district administration is prepared to tackle flood situation. <br /><br />If needed, the authorities will open gruel centres in flood affected areas, he said. <br /><br />Meanwhile, Madikeri Deputy Conservator of Forest Dhanajaya said that the department has dug trenches and laid solar fences to check wild elephant menace. <br /><br />Assistant Forest Conservator Alexander said that Rapid Response Teams have been formed in Virajpet to tackle elephant menace. Zilla Panchayat Chief Project Officer Srinivas Rao and others were present. </p>
