Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat has demonstrated the ‘Pipe Compost’ method, a simple and low-cost eco-friendly solid waste management at household level. The concept has been successfully introduced in some taluks of the district. This model, along with that of a readymade toilet at Gadag Zilla Panchayat stall and Koppal Zilla Panchayat’s success story in multi-GP solid and liquid waste management, are attracting visitors. These stalls are educating the visitors on recycling and management of waste, besides checking open defecation, mostly seen in rural areas.

About 180 organisations, including Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Aeronautical Development Establishment, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) and others have put on display their contributions to defence forces.
