You can tip off officials on 9448795583 or 1077

If you think that the candidates for the election to the Lok Sabha from Mysore and Kodagu constituency are superfluous in expenditure, you may directly lodge a complaint with Expenditure Observer Jitendra Yadav.

Presiding over a meeting at the Deputy Commissioner’s office, on Saturday, Yadav directed the officials roped in for the poll duty to keep a tab on the day-to-day spending of the nominees. The details of expenditure have to be filed in a prescribed format.

Delineating, Yadav said, the video viewing team and video vigilance teams have to record the rallies, conventions, road shows and other programmes, organised by the parties.

Moreover, the teams have to take note of the number of vehicles being used, registration numbers, star campaigners, if any, and the participation of other leaders, besides pandal, furniture and food arrangements made for the benefit of the workers.

The officials should prepare an estimate of expenditure  after going through the aforementioned arrangements.

Equally, round the clock vigilance should be in place at check-posts on the borders to check the supply of materials like sarees, garments, jewellery and also liquor supposed to be distributed among voters.

Such seizures of items should be recorded. Most importantly, tourists coming to the city should not be harassed in the name of inspection.

The nodal officers should work in tandem and take active part in checking the irregularities, if any Yadav stressed. Information can also be passed on to the control room at the Deputy Commissioner’s office on toll free number 1077.

Intensified drive

In an intensified drive to attract more number of voters towards polling booths on the D-day, SVEEP has organised an awareness programme from the foot of Chamundi Hill on March 23 at 6.30 am.

The day being Sunday, more number of people, a mix of joggers and devotees, are expected to take the steps to the shrine.

Planning to cash in on the same, the officials and volunteers involved in SVEEP, will send a message on voting up to the hill top in coordination with the department of Youth Services and Sports and Nehru Yuva Kendra.
