The fishermen of the district among others have made the region proud by donating 15,000 units of blood, opined G Shankar Trust Promoter G Shankar.
Speaking at the valedictory of blood donation camp jointly organised by District Mogaveera Youth Association and G Shankar Family Trust, he said that he is proud of the blood donors for saving thousands of lives through blood donation.
Stressing the need for a mobile unit to collect blood, he appealed the KMC to extend health card facilities to the donors’ parents too. Lauding the efforts of G Shankar, Manipal University Pro Chancellor Dr H S Ballal said that Shankar has been a role model by creating a record of sorts in collecting blood.
On the occasion, Ramesh Mogaveera was donated a wheelchair while five persons were felicitated for continuously donating blood.
