BJP has ignored BCs, minorities: Dinesh

Ahead of a massive rally by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the city on Saturday, Congress posed several questions to the Union government, accusing it of ignoring Backward Classes and minorities in the state.

At a press conference, KPCC president Dinesh Gundu Rao said he would also write to Election Commission to transfer Income Tax Department officials behind the 'selective raids' on Congress and JD(S) leaders.

"Not a single Other Backward Class candidate is given the Lok Sabha ticket by BJP. Did they not find a single candidate from this category? Is it Sab Ka Saath, Sabka Vikas?" he questioned.

Taking a dig at Modi for speaking about late actor-politician Ambareesh and seeking votes for his wife Sumalatha in Mandya constituency, Rao sought to know why Modi did not utter a word about late Union minister Ananth Kumar in his speech and his wife Tejaswini was denied a BJP ticket in the last minute.

On Income Tax Department raids, he said that the Modi government is misusing the Central agencies to reap political dividends.

On police security sought by BJP leader K S Eshwarappa's personal assistant Vinay to release a diary of transactions by BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa, he said that a probe should be ordered into the issue.

"Earlier, the director general (investigation) of Income Tax Department had ruled the diary as fake. We can only know the truth after the diary is released. Police should provide adequate security to Vinay," he said.
