To maintain law and order and to observe Tipu Jayanti in a peaceful manner, Deputy Commissioner Sasikanth Senthil has clamped prohibitory order of Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC), across Dakshina Kannada district till November 11 midnight.

The prohibitory order is clamped based on a report submitted by City Police Commissioner and Superintendent of Police that BJP and other organizations who are opposing Tipu Jayanti will pose a hurdle for Tipu Jayanti in Mangaluru.

Assembly of five or more persons, holding of public meetings jatha, processions, and carrying of firearms is prohibited during the period. The DC has said that no organisations are allowed to mount banners, buntings, and use loudspeakers to shout slogans during the period.
