JOIN USThe death toll in the boat tragedy case in Koormagad near here has touched 15 with the retrieval of a girl's body from the Arabian sea on Wednesday.
The deceased girl has been identified as Keerthi Somappa Belavalakoppa (7). Her body was found near Belekeri port located at a distance of 25 km from the place where the incident took place.
The personnel of Amarthya boat of Coast Guard, who are on the lookout of the boat tragedy victims, found the girl's body. She hailed from Belavalakoppa in Shiggaon taluk in Haveri district. Twelve others of her family were in the boat along with her. Among them, the bodies of seven people had been retrieved on Tuesday.
It is said that the tides during the full moon day may have swept away the body. Meanwhile, the body of Sandeep Parasappa (10), who was in the boat, is yet to be traced. The search is on.
